ATA Briefcases
At Jan-Al Cases, we use this to indicate any case that is thin enough that it can only accommodate small recessed latches and a small recessed handle. In fact, many clients opt to use a an ATA briefcase handle to keep the case balanced.
Typically the largest of these cases is for a synthesizer or guitar or a salesman’s portfolio.
Briefcases can also be used to keep smalls together inside of larger cases or items needed for fly dates.
